Built to last

The mixer wagons are designed with a 20mm floor plate and 8mm, fillet welded side walls. In a design unique to BvL, the walls are lapped at the joints, and the joints are optimally positioned to double the strength and thickness where needed.

They come with specially designed ‘V’ shaped self-tracking, self-cleaning conveyor systems with cage rollers to help eliminate build up and keep tracking true. See below cutaway

Quality is further enhanced with double layered, 6mm rubber belting. The centering guides and the cleats are made from tough, vulcanised rubber and the belts are also set with a very simple yet strong joiner that helps ensure a long and trouble-free life.

Built with asymmetrical positioning of the mixing wedges, the BvL mixer wagon design produces optimum flow of material, high volume utilisation, faster mixing times and low power requirements.

The vertical mixers can handle long material and round bales, and once loaded the mixing time can take as little as five minutes.

An innovative anti-spill ring design offers two main advantages. Firstly, it helps prevent feed spilling over the top of the mixing bins. It also increases the overall strength of the top of the bins in case loading tractors make contact with the mixer.

Another point of difference in the BvL design is the ‘sharks bite’ mixing feature that allows some material to fall back down to achieve faster mixing. By filling the void under the augers as they rotate, this feature also provides greater cubic capacity.

To ensure utmost accuracy, the bin volumes are calculated around the conical mixer augers and the augers are hopper size specific to provide the best mixing in the quickest time possible. Mixer wagon augers need to be as large as possible to create the fastest mix, yet as small as possible to reduce the impact on the loading capacity.

The mixers include a patented exact dosing system to ensure even mixing, consistent product flow and loose swathe. The system uses the asymmetrical design, along with the sharks bite, to ensure full utilisation of the bowl capacity and to make certain that any trace materials at the bottom of the bowl are evenly mixed.

The advantages of an asymmetrical design are that all feed gets mixed consistently through the whole mixer wagon, from forward to back and top to bottom in the shortest time possible. The BvL design is innovative, user friendly and reliable throughout, from strong drawbars and chassis with four load cells, to easy fuel maintenance with clear view oil levels.
